Formerly known as 'Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company
(TELCO). Tata Motors is one of the leading car companies. The company was
founded way back in 1945 by the founder J R D Tata and was first manufacturer
of locomotives.
The automotive industry headquartered in Mumbai,
Maharashtra, and has numerous assembly and manufacturing plants in Pune,
Dharvad, Sanad, Lucknow, Pantnagar, and Jamshedpur.

2. Ratan Tata

Pallonji Mistry (M.D of Shaporji Pallonji Group) on Dec-28-2012.
He is the sith chairman of Group not to be named Tata after
Nowarji Saklatwal had led the group between 1932 & 1938.
First vehicle was launched in 1954
with collaboration with Daimler Benz, ended up in 1969.
First passenger vehicle was launched in 1991- Tata Sierra.
